ALFRED KAINGA
Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Alfred Kainga moved to the United States in 2001 and began his comedy career in Dallas in 2005. He quickly gained recognition as a Semi-Finalist in the 2014 Shaq All-Star Comedy Competition and a Finalist in the Funniest Comic in Texas Competition in both 2014 and 2016. He made his television debut in 2016 on Comedy Central’s Hart of the City with Kevin Hart and later appeared on RideTV’s Chad Prather Comedy Shootout.
Alfred has toured with comedy legends such as Bruce Bruce, Pierre, Mark Curry, and Bill Bellamy. His “Funny from A to Z” brand has gone global, with performances in countries including Zimbabwe, Nigeria, South Africa, Canada, Jamaica, and England, earning him rave reviews from audiences of all backgrounds.

The Plano Comedy Festival is the largest comedy festival in North Texas, presenting over 100 comedy acts across 6 days. From rising stars to national touring headliners, this multi-day celebration showcases a diverse range of comedic talent.
The mission of the Plano Comedy Festival is to enrich the City of Plano and surrounding communities through the comedic arts by organizing an annual comedy festival that fuels artistic growth and connection. Since 2018, the festival has welcomed nearly 700 comedians from across the U.S. and around the world, offering opportunities to perform, network, and create unforgettable comedy experiences together.
Plano Comedy Festival, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization and is funded in part by the City of Plano.
