PLANO COMEDY FESTIVAL PRESENTS THE POWER OF ANALOGIES: WRITING STRONGER STAND UP JOKES WITH DEAN LEWIS

The Power of Analogies
Ever notice how the right comparison can turn an ordinary observation into a laugh?
Imagine describing your smartphone as a needy roommate who demands your attention every five minutes. Suddenly, you have something people can picture and laugh at.
In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn how to use analogies to turn abstract ideas into vivid images, reveal surprising connections, and make your jokes more original and memorable.
You’ll write, pitch your ideas, get feedback, and leave with a practical method for turning everyday observations into fresh comedy material.
Come ready to think, write, pitch, and laugh!
